I had to learn/use metric system in architecture school for a month while abroad. It is so clean and simple! Everything just fits so easily and clearly and makes sense.

I've started using the metric system where I can. It just makes more sense and makes measuring/weighing things a whole lot easier.

Also the king's foot, standard “Ruler“ length, is where the measurement “imperial“ is derived.

"Imperial system. It's easy!"
Me: "What?"

Do the other countries make a 30cm long measurement device? It is about a foot and I would think it would be easier to measure small things. Also I don't think anyone uses a decimeter(10cm).

the metric system is not easier in real life. go frame a wall with some 38.1x152.4 lumber 2352.675mm long, 406.4mm centers. the sheet is with 1219.2x2438.4 12.7mm plywood.

or 2x6 lumber 92-5/8 long studs on 16 inch center. sheeted with 4x8 1/2 inch plywood.

the metric is not useful in this application. if you don't like factions,

thousandth of an inch is a better size for common people to uses compared to millimeters, microns or nanometers

but not sure what that's all about.
