KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WKRC) - The body of a Cleves woman missing in Great Smoky Mountains National Park has been found, according to the park.

Susan Clements, 53, went missing Sept. 25 while hiking with her daughter on the Forney Ridge trail in the Clingman's Dome area of the park. Clements and her daughter reportedly separated and planned on meeting back in the parking lot, but Clements never returned.

The national park said:

Search crews located the body of Susan Clements this afternoon, two miles west of the Clingmans Dome parking area and 3/4 miles south of the Appalachian Trail. Our hearts are with the family and friends of Ms. Clements. Thanks to everyone that participated in the search.

It's not clear how Clements died.
