Why Mexico matters to the United States

Mexico. America's neighbor. Political relations between the two countries haven't always been neighborly. For instance, the President of Mexico has boycotted a meeting in the United States in recent months. Which is why President Biden's visit there is one to watch.

It's easy to dismiss this meeting in Mexico as not being important or impacting your community. But you'd be wrong.

Mexico impacts what's happening at our southern border greatly.

Remember, a record number of illegal crossings have happened in recent months and mayors from Denver to New York have declared a state of emergency as a result.

Many migrants, especially, from the northern triangle in Central America, first cross through Mexico before they attempt to enter our country. If Mexico, restricts migration more at its southern border experts say the situation at the U.S. border may improve.

I cannot even imagine how awful it must be in their own country to walk or pay people to get to freedom or possibly die trying, in the process or if they live then being turned away. No American would remotely consider such a journey. These people, many have trade skills that barely exist in our country today as well as are hard working laborers. Mexico, is way important for a good many reasons for sure. Those passing through MX to get to the States, idk but must be awfully desparate to even try but surely must bring a positive skill. Such a shame for desparation to be unable to take time to do correctly. Has to be the horrors they were facing that made them make the trek. But, the system has rules.
