We Say Goodbye to our 2023 Acura Integra Long Term After 22,000 Miles

It’s the end of the road for what will likely go down as one of our all-time favorite long-term test vehicles, this 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec. We’re saddened by its departure, but we’re left with many great memories of road trips and commutes that were a little more exciting than they would have been without the Integra.

During its year-long stay with us, this Integra really impressed us. Not to say that we expected it to disappoint, we just didn’t think it was going to be as great as it is. The Integra A-Spec excels not just as a backroad bomber, but a highway cruiser too, and in all-weather to boot. So, we’re really going to miss driving this surprisingly practical, manual-shifting four-door sedan.

Adding to the fun was a rev-happy turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine that not only delivered its 200 horsepower with ease, but gave us 34.5 mpg fuel economy while doing it, and even sounded pretty good for a four-cylinder.

All told, we racked up 21,934-miles in our 12-month test. We had zero mechanical issues, and the interior looked almost as good when it left as it did on the day it arrived.

Looking back through a year’s worth of logbook comments, the only negative to be found was some trouble keeping Apple CarPlay connected on long trips.

To many, the Integra may be just a more mature version of the Honda Civic Si, and we say, what’s wrong with that? We’d definitely recommend the A-Spec as its 18-inch wheels and black trim elements are well done.

Sport sedan performance, premium-car pampering, hatchback flexibility, economy-car fuel mileage. The Acura Integra does indeed deliver it all and it will be missed.

Only complaint on ours is the seats are a little too hard for long road trips. But I can’t complain about 39.5 mpg overall.

Beautiful car we were looking into that or the TLX. We went with the TLX but when we took ours in to get some issues fixed the speaker thing went out and they had to fix that we got a loaner they always have the brand new cars as loaner so we went for the 2024 aspec Integra and we loved it. Loved it so much it almost made me want to switch but it doesn’t have the blowers in back and I have kids I wanted those for that reason and I just love my tlx. They are both beautiful cars can’t go wrong. I did not know the TLX had the battery in the back though. Huge battery and it as less passenger space in the back then I expected for our daughters car seat I should’ve tested it first but looks like we are gonna trade in our baby our beautiful TSX love that car it’s gorgeous for an SUV. We also got the mdx as a loaner and I fell in love it was so comfortable. More gas and definitely not as much horsepower or go but I have a newborn and my son who’s 10 so it’s about them.

1:11 Would have been nice to actually hear what was being explained and yes, 1:37, what's wrong with the Integra being a mature version of the Civic is the ridiculous inflated price of over $37K for the model you think is so good. This still IS essentially a Honda Civic with a slightly different looking lower-grade material interior. Seeing the Civic is already over-priced, and it is considering the competition, the Integra owner is merely paying for the Acura built-in service upfront in the MSRP.

The integra is about to be extinct due to the intro of the 2025 civic hybrid.

How can a 1.5 200hp bring excitement? My 2012 9.0 RS Scion xB has a 2.4 158hp. Way more fun to drive imo.

Love the car. Hate the 18 inch wheels! Would be much better if it had the 17 inch wheels to absorb the harsh roads in the Northeast. The Sunroof takes up too much headspace! This car could be a much better package adding rear seat ventilation, 17 inch wheels along with 50 series sidewall tires, and eliminating that moonroof. The seats could be a little better adding lumbar support on all trims. It's unfortunate that most of these car companies are more focused on SUVs and leaving the cars as an afterthought.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the seats are too hard. I just can't believe that not a single reviewer on YouTube has mentioned this pretty glaring fault (IMO) for a luxury car. Standard Civic seats are more comfortable. It's like they are so enamored by the manual transmission nothing else matters?

What happens to these demo cars? Are they auctioned off by the supplying dealership? Or scrapped because they're built as demos, so no tax paid?

Just not a fan. Too bulky looking. Hate the rear. Cannot make myself like it.

This and the Si are awesome cars must be ready for leaking AC compressors. My 2020 lost AC at 30k miles it's super common.

Is this the same 1.5L turbo that Honda has had all the oil dilution problems with?
