In an interview with Jee-woon Kim, He revealed that some Indian producers were interested in the film's remake rights. Since they failed to negotiate an agreement at that time, he laughed, "They copied and made it anyway."

you would be surprise to know how many movies Indians copy without even asking for approval. heck even the most hit songs in India are samples from other songs.

I saw the devil sets an example that a thriller is not about suspense, over-dramatic score, or unexpected plot twists, but rather the presentation of a simple story. It can be revenge, conspiracy, survival, or any messed-up humanitarian setting. And that story must pound your heart in a frequency tuned with the character's POV.

The original creation of Kim Jee-Woon has been packaged with too many goosebumps. Three killers in a cab, greenhouse face-off, dinner scene, and that bone-chilling climax left you wondering who's the real devil.

Coming to our love-obsessed remake is full of cringe dialogues and songs that saved the film as every other Bhat film does. Their filmography is based on Korean adaptions served with vulgarity. The plot invested more into their chemistry build-up, whereas the revenge is rarely sprinkled.

If you watch both the movies you will notice that the indian movie is not a remake or complete copy of "i saw a devil", you can say that indian movie is inspired by that movie, but it's not a complete copy... For example villain in this korean movie is a perverted psychopath who just want to use women to satisfy his thirst of lust and then kill them but in indian movie that psychopath do kill women but to release his frustrations of society and his wife... Also in the indian version( " ek villain") we got to see how important the female lead was to the male lead, how she changed his life by changing him from a goon to a good person... That indian movie is quite emotional( you may really cry while watching that movie). I recomend that you'll should watch that movie, it is available on YouTube and it's a beautiful story...

Bro why all are fighting 😂
I mean both are nice but in a different way like ek villian is more emotional and i like emotional movies but i saw the devil is more thriller than ek villain and i like it too
So i can't choose
So instead of fighting enjoy the movie according to your taste❤

The indian movie(Ek villian) was kind of soft copy of this film..
In that a gangster/criminal falls in love with a girl (leaving his past life behind) which is then killed by a serial killer and he takes revenge on him in the same manner as this movie..

Same thing happened with oldboy. An indian director copied the film scene by scene without the remake rights.
