Today we take a look at the 1957 Dodge Custom Royal with only 9700 miles on the odometer. This car came to me with a seized engine. It took a bunch of work to get it back on the road and also preserve its originality.

I remember this car from a car show in Strongsville Ohio (Cleveland area) in 1977! It was like brand new.

This was my first car in the mid 90's, I loved it and wish I still had it! Mine had the Mint green with white.

About 20 years ago I was at a car show and saw a guy who had built up a '59 Custom Royal. He had retrofitted a 440+6 under the hood. It was jet black and had blacked out steel wheels that looked like they belonged on a Nascar track. It was so cool. Ever since then I've had an itch to build up a finned car. Thanks for showing us this, it's obviously too nice to modify too much. But it's a superb car the way it is.

Great looking Dodge! Glad to see that you did not try to make the car something that it was not ment to be. Only doing a few things to make the car safe & easy to repair (like the breaks). I realy like it when a person respects a classic automobile and tries to keep it as original as possible Great job!

Man I’m so happy this car made it into your hands! The care, the smart unobtrusive upgrades, just fantastic to see this lovely old Dodge set up for another sixty+ years of history.
Thanks for this uplifting video 👍🏻

What a great find, just a nice car for a Sunday cruise. Would of thought it was a 270ci. Red ram or maybe that was gone in 1957.

You know what they call a quarter pounder in France? A Royal with cheese.

Wish that 1957 Dodge Royal Lancer with a V-8 engine, 2 door hardtop with factory fender skirts, and dual antennas at the rear. For 1958, Dodge uses 4 headlights.

I think I have photos of this car taken at a car show in Strongsville Ohio in 1977. I will post them if I can find them. I own a 1958 Dodge Coronet that my grandfather purchased new. I had it at that show.

This one brings back memories, from 1962 when I was four.

For a few months, my father drove an identical 1957 Dodge...color and body style. But these cars were prone to mechanical issues, so he traded it in for a 1955 Pontiac.

I kind of wish he held onto it a little longer. As young as I was, I preferred the styling of the Dodge. But he said the car was "sick, " and that was that.
