When I was a young child my parents would pack us up in the van and follow these guys around the country. I remember a lot of amazing people, but one lady stands out. She was so kind and gentle, almost childlike. Everyone called her Mama C. So, Mama C if you're out there, I never forgot you and I still have the ceramic apple you helped me paint!

As a gladly self-described Dead Head, I spent 15 years, off and on, I did have a full time job, chasing the Grateful Dead all over the Eastern half of the USA. A great way to see the country, BTW. Soooo, back in 1992 I was in Washington, D.C. when they busted out "Casey Jones" for the first time in almost ten years, preceded by Drummers Bill Kreutzman and Mickey Hart serenading the crowd at RFK Stadium with real train horns for about two minutes. VERY LOUD!!! We were all VERY HAPPY!!! They closed the show with an encore of "Baba O'Reilly" by The WHO into "Tomorrow Never Knows" by The Beatles. That's why we all toured, we didn't want to miss anything. Try: "Cumberland Blues", "Sugar Magnolia/Sunshine Daydream", and " Deal". Then sit back and smile.

My brother used to travel all over the country following The Dead when Jerry Garcia was still alive. He was a true Dead Head!

Great reaction. You are getting on the bus. The Dead's repertoire is vast--if you went to see them four nights in a row (as I did many times), you wouldn't see a single song repeated. A couple of classic live versions to start out with are from their Europe '72 album; "China Cat Sunflower/I Know You Rider" is an example of how the Dead could transition between songs and "Morning Dew" showcases the pathos and mastery of Jerry Garcia. Welcome aboard!

I was too young for Grateful Dead when they were at the top of their time, but was fortunate enough to see them in Chicago before Jerry Garcia passed away. It was a great concert! Might want to check out Grateful Dead, "Touch Of Gray" official music video...

Pink Floyd is my favorite band of all time!! Glad you’ve joined the club Stan!! You need to check out Echoes live at Pompeii if you haven’t already. Absolutely amazing!! You also should do reactions to the whole album of Animals, Wish You Were Here, Dark Side of The Moon and The Wall. 4 brilliant concept albums that deserve to be listened to from beginning to end. Thx Stan!!

That indescribable feeling - like floating on a cloud and time has no meaning and every Grateful Dead song should never end. I recommend you check out Eyes of The World w/ Brandon Marsalis joining the Dead.

The Greateful Dead are THE band, who is live always better, than at studio. Their concerts are psychedelic experiences... trance is the right word... Listen to Greateful Dead, the closing of Winterland., rcordes on new years eve 1978. 4 and a half hours... Their fans are called "Dead Heads".
