I really enjoyed this video. I was born and raised in Thibodaux, I moved to Texas in 1991. This makes me want to go back home. I miss my hometown and my family.

My father, Dr. Keshav S. Mandhare, was a professor of Chemistry at Nicholls State from 1966-2000, We were the first and only Asian Indian family in Thibodaux for 10 years until the Joshi family moved in. My three younger siblings were all born in Thibodaux— two at St. Joseph Hospital and the youngest at Thibodaux Hospital. We all went to St. Joseph Elementary and E.D. White. My father published 33 publications, many on Bayou Lafourche. He also worked part time at the sugar cane mill in Matthews, LA. My mother taught at several schools in the area. He was offered jobs at Ivy League universities, but chose to remain in Thibodaux due to the safety and nice environment. Thank you for video on our hometown. We grew up on Cajun food as much as Indian food.

oh man... watching these out of order... didn't realize this one mentioned the 1891 Italian lynching. I would love to see a full video on this incident. I think the way that people look for "groups" of people to blame for their problems just occurs over and over in history and these events can teach us so much about our humanity. So many things seem to revolve around the color of people's skin and dark-skinned Sicilians were certainly no different. I especially thought that the item that was posted in the newspaper that encouraged the public to take the law into their own hands was particularly chilling. thanks for these great videos!

Henry is my 6th Great Grandfather. It was such a big deal to my grandma she was so proud. I think she always lamented not having grown up in Thibodaux. <3

I wrote my PhD dissertation on Francis T. Nicholls and consider him a good governor, and so did Former Gov. Edwin Edwards. You decide for yourself if an endorsement from Edwards is a compliment or not.

Is there a man name Doc Millsap that lives there, and does he have a wife named Hanna? You might know their son, they call him Amos Moses

This video contains inaccuracies...for example: The Acadia house was NOT destroyed to build the John Folse Culinary building, rather it was destroyed so that the owner of the property could build his new house on the site....please check your facts!

And I'm waiting for the one on the dark history of this town. How many people are still buried in unmarked graves here?

I dropped some coin at the court house.

No mention of the Thibodaux massacre but mentioned the Italian massacre in New Orleans.. Do better be inclusive and acknowledge the contributions of all who paved the way for the city to be what it is. Don't whitewash Lafourche parish.
