It's nice of you not to take a side in our never ending linguistic debates. I would also add that approaching this issue without judgement, but rather with a spirit of mutual respect, is immensely more constructive that the usual "francophones are racists" or "anglophones are imperialists".

Thank you so much for this video. It’s very helpful, I’m trying my best to learn French right now, and I’ll study it more. I’m moving to Montreal this year, and I’m excited to embrace the language and culture. I hope the native speakers in Quebec will be patient with me and my family. I’m moving there because I want to be immersed in the language, and learn to speak it.
Your channel is great. I hope my daughter can meet you someday. She will be applying to transfer to McGill or Concordia and is your age. If you’re willing to connect with her, I can give you her contact info ❤️💜

Hi Yasmeen! Jesse here. If Quebec were classed as a country in Canada, would you speak English there, too, as if it is widely spoken?

Really appreciate your neutral and open minded approach. You shouldn’t be expected to speak fluent french if you’re coming here as a student though, especially since you’ve chosen an anglophone college. All the best for your studies! 🙂👊

I understand that people may struggle learning it after moving there..but I don't get how people are born and raised there and never learn French.

I was born in Montreal
My Dad talks to me in Italian
My Mom talks to me in English
When I was growing up I went to a French school
From kindergarten to College { French }
I went to McGill University in English { English }
I speak three languages French Italian English as a native speaker
I strongly encourage parents to place their children in the French school system if they speak English at home
This way children will speak perfect French and English as native speaker like me.
I want to add, if French parents speak French at home and send their children to a French-only school, they will ONLY be able to communicate in French.
This will only make Quebec their Prison they will never work outside of Quebec.
If the adult child gets a job offer say in the USA, or anywhere outside of Quebec, and only can communicate in French,
no one will hire them, hence Quebec is their Prison.

French language a prison. French is not only spoken in Québec but in France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium Morocco, Algeria, Haïti, Madagascar, Congo lebaneon etc

Now, do you care to list where French is not used?
Please do list all the places where French is not used, I mean *at all*
Uh-huh, thought so,

If just rude and arrogant, not to learn french in Montréal . For those who do not prefer to speak french .Please do not use the racist card. In Rome do as Romans do !
