What Are The Best Router Lifts To Buy?

The router lift is a very handy and practical way to boost the ease of use and versatility of your router table.

Instead of your router bit being under the table and hard to adjust, with a router lift you have the ability to adjust the height of the bit with extreme accuracy and ease. This gives you a greater vantage point and allows you to route material in a more efficient manner.

So is the rooter the same as a router never heard of a rooter...

no mention of the Rockler Prolift...i feel that it is great lift and has a couple of unique features such as the fast bit travel and the pop out aluminum inserts. i have many roooter lifts and it may be my next lift since they now make it in the common 91/4" x 113/4" plate size.

You left out the only router lift that functionally changes the operations you can perform on the router table. The MLCS PowerLift Pro takes the concept of the plunge router and inverts it for use in the router table. The foot pedal allows you to bring the spinning bit up into the work piece. Making it possible to do mortising, circle cutting, stopped dadoes, incremental passes, etc.
Combine all that with .001" precision movements, memory positions, and other computer controlled features and its easy to see why it's unmatched by any mechanical lift.
So would you please consider the MLCS Powerlift Pro. It's a game changer

Thanks for the video.
The British way you say router sounds like ROOTER? I was wondering how do you ask someone to get out?

Rooter tables? My bosch router base will bow if used freehand, making the base rock. But works ok on a router plate. But no good for rooting!

i was over this vid as soon as you called it a rooter, I like English accents but I've never heard anyone call it a rooter

I appreciate the video but I am not sure what is your source that makes you put the bosch above anything. I have had the whole bosch table with lift and it is a piece of garbage. Raising and lowering the bit is a pain and you strip out the screw head quite easily.

A rooter lift or a router lift...which is it?

IMO... none of them. They all have some degree of play in them that makes them not run true. Sometimes it's due to the plate thinness, but it's primarily due to their linear shafts.

The JessEm you have at number 1 has the least amount of play (due to the length of their bearing structure, but it still lacks true precision.

If companies worried less about weight, they'd realize that having more, and larger linear slide guides, it would fix the issue.

Adding a dual lift mechanism rods to distribute the pressure, and a total of 4 or 5 slides would prevent the slop/play.

The biggest issue though, is the small, and thin/weak sized plates. A 9"x11" limits a lot of what could be done. A 14-1/2" x 11-1/2" with a 1/2" 6061 plate will provide much more stability.

Basically, a homemade router lift can do a better job as it's more customizable. Also, using a 25mm shaft with self lubricating bearings will put play and slop to zero as long as it's build properly.

You are using stock photos that have nothing to do with routing, for example there's a dude using a lathe.

Why are you saying rooter? It's not broadband. Sounds like ROWTER not ROOTER.

Great video but so annoying. The English language pronounce routing, not rooting.

Narrator can't even pronounce router and is just reading product descriptions and stating random design aspects.
