Watch the Flow of Protection Gas in MIG Welding - Imaged with CAVILUX + Schlieren

Показать описание
This is MIG welding imaged with our CAVILUX laser illumination + Schlieren imaging set-up. In this case the process didn't have front illumination because we wanted to show you the magical view to the shielding gas.

Looking at this footage you can see the direction of the gas flow and how it prevents the weld from oxidizing by covering the surface with a thick layer of protection.

Being able to visualize the gas flows with this clarity allows researchers to easily identify even the smallest deviations when changing e.g. angles, travel speed, gas flow amount or speed of flow. This wealth of information can lead to better understanding of things that are otherwise invisible, hence our slogans "See What You Have Missed" and "Welcome to the Invisible World".

As epic as it can get in terms of welding imaging 🤯🤯

This is great! It would be interesting to know what the CFH in the video was. Also, can you do one where the CFH is abnormally high? Perhaps 100+ CFH?
