At my 1st duty station I had barracks duty with a Sgt. When the OOD showed up the Sgt jumped up, saluted, and went into some long cool schpeel. The OOD requested I make rounds with him so we walked through the barracks and everything was good, I asked him if I should report like the Sgt did. He says no, you never should, that Sgt thinks it's cool, someone showed him that but don't ever do what he did.🤣
