This story reminded me of another guy who did something pretty similar.

Back in January of 2023, this idiot walked into a Houston restaurant and pulled out a gun, he was robbing the joint. He grabbed the phones and cash of everyone sitting at the tables before heading for the door. But as he was, an older gentleman that was seated behind him snuck with his own gun and fired at the robber. Nine times! While excessive, this was a bold move as the robber could have turned and fired back. Except he was actually brandishing a fake gun. Wow. You gotta be missing a lot of braincells to think this stunt would end well in Texas of all places.

Not so fun fact: While he was married with his cypriot wife, he would abuse her constantly and has hit her multiple times, she eventually divorced him. But he started being a creep and would try to get back to his wife, so much that the Cypriot authorities deported him back to Egypt, he tried to sneak into Cyprus but he got caught and arrested. Eventually Seif escaped prison in 2011 due to the 2011 Egyptian Revolution and collected cell phones to make it look like a bomb vest. So that wasn’t the first time trying to get back with his wife.

Another fact: When his daughter died in 2002 (years after the divorce), his wife informed Seif about it but he didn’t seem to care much about it.

Well, I kind of feel bad for him. He must be really desperate to do this and knowing Egypt system there is no way he will get out.

I heard about this. When asked about what Ben did, his friends said that it was “totally in character for him”. He figured that he was about to die so he might as well take a selfie with the hijacker.

Reminds me of a guy who tried to rob some people at a restaurant, threatening them with toy gun, BUT since it was in USA he had a very close encounter with some real bullets
