For those not in the know this game's gem system had unique properties for all characters. You could tell if the character had a specific buff when you would use a gem it would say the buff and next to it would say "SP".
Captain America's specific gem was Power. All special moves had multiple hits.
Hulk's specific gem was Time. Made him super fast, this is actually similar to Orange Hulk from MvC1.
Psylocke's specific gem was Power. Gave her 2 extra copies of her giving her more reach.
Wolverine's specific gem was Power. Gave him shadow trails and each hit gave him multiple hits, kinda like Rose's Soul Illusion.
Iron Man's specific gem was Soul. Gave him an offense buff and stole more life from opponent when he hit them, you could tell because every time you hit them they would have a lighting effect.
Shuma Gorath's specific gem was Time. Gave speed and would freeze the opponent every time you hit them.
Magneto's specific gem was Space. Gave him a shield and he was invulnerable during the gem activation. You could deplete it faster if you hit the shield. I believe you could still grab him though.
Juggernaut's specific gem was Space. Gave him permanent super armor, took no damage, and gave him a cool shade of black and grey. Could still be grabbed though.
Blackheart's specific gem was Reality. Turned him invisible and I think made the reality projectiles do more damage and stun.
Spiderman's specific gem was Power. Gave him another copy of himself like Morrigan's illusion copy. So it was like 2 spidermans hitting you causing higher stun and damage.
I don't think Dr Doom and Thanos had any specific gems seeing as how they were bosses.

Capcom fighting games in the 90s had so much personality too, from SFA2 to Msh and a few others. When ever you would finish a round your win was indicated with a certain icon.
Won by time? You get an hourglass.
Won with a grab? You get a lasso.
Won with a weak jab? You get a cherry.
Won while the opponent was blocking? You get the infamous Cheese.
Those were just the general icons used. Alpha2 had a lot more.

Man, I freaking love the Marvel CPS2 games, I can't wait for the Marvel vs collection to come out.

Shuma Gorath is my favorite marvel villain. First appearing in the Conan comics, then later as a major Dr Strange villain

When I was 10, I got a Playstation with resident evil 2. I didn't understand the controls, and it was scaring the crap out of me. So that same day, my dad took it back to target. This is the game that I came home with instead. My first Playstation game. I didn't know what the gems were for, or how to use them. Still, mashing buttons on this game was a profound experience for me as a child.

I haven't played it since, this collection is day one mandatory.

This game was just some throwaway title i had because my grandfather loved comics, found myself playing it so many times as i slowly learnt what fighting games were and how to execute moves. Never got deep into Fighters until like P4Arena because i'm casual af but man, learning how to actually chain together different hits and do supers and stuff was like 'The Time' with fighting games. (Gimme Blackheart in more fighters >:D)

That Spider-Man player at the end was inspiring.

Shuma-Gorath once possessed Captain America and then Cap became free from his control after Deadpool KICKED HIM IN THE NUTS!

I wish I was making this shit up! Justin put him in the thumbnail so I had to mention it

This game is highly underrated. It's essentially a super sf. Semi reminiscent of the alpha series. Love all the vs series, but I will always favor the classic 1v1

Now that you're digging up classic fighters, I'm hopeful to see the old favorite from my arcade days, Rival Schools!

Oh, great, more Jp footage. And starting nicely with sights of the rare Marvel community there. Even if they can't keep up it's nice to check it. Now looking foward to more stuff. Thank you.

the portrait "stun meter" is also in cota. it looks like they're taken out of the comics. in cota the only stun combo i know is wolvie's crouch hk > stand hp > drill claw. not sure, but it seems grounded attacks deal more stun that air combo hits in msh.
