Mitch thanks again for another informative video. .Your tips are very useful. I kinda like restoring or refurbishing old stuff, be it tools or old engines. It's a feeling of satisfaction when you can take something that about useless and get it working like new again. ( I bet my wife would like to do that to me! LOL! ) Take care.

Two questions:
1. Which model of inexpensive Japanese type pull saw would you recommend?
2. In every video showing a Japanese craftsman sharpening on water stones I've seen he yanks the blade backwards and forwards with significant pressure while most westerners tend to use light pull strokes only. What's up with that?

When you used the honing guide why did you put the chisel on the metal bars and  not use the jaws.
