I've NEVER SEEN THIS In The Car Market, IT'S BAD

My name is Brandon and I am a used car dealer. I created Car Questions Answered to share the ins and outs of the used car market from my perspective. I share with you updates on car prices, what's happening at the dealer auctions, and what it's like being a dealer. My goal is to share information to help you make the best decisions while buying a car to save you money. I do not want car dealers taking advantage of you.

Thanks for watching and please feel free to leave any comments you may have in the section below!

I can hardly wait to spend 80 grand on a maybe right after I buy a starter home for a cool milllion.
What planet do we live on now??

I really think some of these manufacturers would rather just crush cars and use a tax loss than sell them for a cheaper price

Manufacturers are making 2 mistakes. Number one, they think that everyone needs a big fat bloated expensive pickup truck or SUV ... most of us don't. Number two is that they think that all of us out here in the real world are rich ... most of us aren't, and on top of that, we're dealing with a cost of living crisis.

Oh no. They didn't save some of the money they've been scamming people out of for a rainy day? My heart bleeds for them. 🤣

Car dealers can blame no one except themselves. Add-ons, doc fees, etc. drive the price up. The consumer wants a vehicle that is reliable for under $30, 000 out the door.

Why does everything seem like a damn scam these days. People being rewarded for doing crappy 💩. While those of us who try to the right things keep getting screwed 🤷

Drove my F150 for 18.5 years. Wanted a new truck, not at these prices. So, I settled for a 2024 Corolla at Earl Steward in West Palm Beach with no mark up. And you know, after 7 months I’ve grown to like this little car. Love the gas milage. Paid cash !

I could easily spend 80k for a new truck, I really need and want one . However, I was raised to NOT do stupid things . My 80k will stay in the bank.

Fantastic video! I have incurred so much losses trading on my own.... I trade well on demo but I think the real market is manipulated.... Can anyone help me out or at least tell me what I'm doing wrong??

Well somebody’s sure buying up all these $70k to $80k trucks that I’ve been saving in my favorites on CarEdge and Car Gurus waiting for prices to drop.

I was looking for a truck 2 years ago and a dealer was upset I wouldn’t pay the “market adjustment” fees. How’s it going now dealers? The vehicle I have will last 20+ years so I’m in no hurry.

Its going to get worse no matter what. Even if Inflation goes to zero, that just means prices will remain the same. People are struggling to keep their heads above water right now. The current cost of living is simply unsustainable for most, and we are going to see a ton of businesses go under.

There's no point to availability without affordability, prices need to come down to earth.

My electric bill had an extra Yes, $180 change to make up for people who can't pay their bill
They said this charge was coming but they also said it wouldn't be more then $40
I'm really mad about it
Because I know that charge isn't going anywhere
Once they're caught up it'll be a charge for the sky being blue
We're going on 5 years or this nonsense and it's going to be just like '08
It never went back to normal after that and where we are now is way worse
Sorry, way off topic but that's what's on my mind

I remember the Fall of 2021 when I was in the market for a new vehicle. The dealers that took advantage of people due to the "shortage" of cars by marking them up $5000 over MSRP I will not forget. Thank goodness I found one smaller dealer in a smaller town that did not mark up over MSRP, and bought from them. I shed no tears for those dealers that I feel gouged people and made loads of money. Now only a few years later that it's becoming a Buyers market again, some of those same dealers are hurting and begging for customers to come back and be "loyal"... I remember, and will not forget them, as I buy elsewhere!

You mean people aren’t scrambling to take out a 10 year loan on a $100, 000 depreciating asset?

You may be right about the car brands you mentioned. But I work for a Mazda dealer and we are doing just fine. We are selling both new and used. The last 3 months we have broken are own dealership records for units sold. So it’s not bad everywhere.

Prices in North America are just to damn high, until they lower the prices way down, it will stay like this. Nobody can afford these things.

That's a really good observation about using equity to weather the storm. With over 40 years of automotive industry experience, even I couldn't make that analysis. Good for you B.

Much of the US economy is supported by folks who spend every dollar they make, and every dollar they can borrow. They live right on the ragged edge, and as such, they also tend to buy a new car every 2 or 3 years whether they can afford it or not. But now, they've been hit by inflation, plus they are $10, 000 or $15, 000 underwater on their current auto loan because they stupidly bought when prices were thousands over MSRP (it's what they do). So, with the suckers not out buying cars it has become much tougher for dealerships to make money on the more savvy consumers who are left. And those consumers have figured out something interesting - the longer they wait, the more the prices drop. So they keep waiting.
