Weird point that washers use 30 gallons of water while a Bath takes 30 gallons aswell and your using 2 baths to do this so 60 gallons of water instead of 30

You dont wash clothes like that! You must scrub each of your clothes with your hand or cloth scrubber to make sure that the dirt with thoroughly remove on your clothes esp the neck, armpits, back of clothes and between pants coz it will stink after you wash it!

Easy way get a water tight box with a lid ( bigger the better ) 1/2 fill with water some washing powder put clothes in put it on the roof rack couple of rough roads and its done

I hang dry my clothes in the sun and then put in the dryer (no heat) to remove lint.

And use cleaning vinegar instead of detergent (i use lavender vinegar). And only a hint of softener

She went old school. My grandmother used to have me and younger brother tread clothes in the bathtub back in the day.
