This is so true and I can relate to this. Position sizing is the key. Several times already I've been in a situation where the market went against me and I was hesitant to close the trade because of nominal value of loss that I would incur if I closed the position and then it was to late and I had a position hanging eating up my margin and blocking me from making other trades.

So many people do not understand this risk business. And this guy is one of them. If you buy stocks for 1 % of your account - that IS NOT the same as risking 1%. Not at all. If you don't get out in time you could loose 5% of the account! How hard is it to understand this?
If you want to risk 1% of your account, then you set a stoploss to take effect when that amount is reached. That is a mathematical calculation and the number of lots you buy is a very important parameter in the calculation. How many pips goes on a risk of 1%? That depends of the price and the number of lots. I cannot teach you this formula here. It is not easy. You will find if you learn to use the formula, that a risk of 1% is never the same as investing 1%. You can invest a lot more and still only risk 1% if you set a tight stoploss.

risk should be based on the stop. risking $100 and stop loss is $50 cent then you can buy 200 shares

Good, quality video. I’m in a process of figuring out my SL. I don’t have enough capital to do proper risk management. For now, I have to risk a certain % of my capital. I’m backtesting 2% vs 3%. What would suck is if I lost 3 trades in a row having 3% SL, id be down almost 10% of my capital vs. having a 2% SL, which would allow me to be wrong 5 times for 10% loss of overall capital
