Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos Still Rotten to the Core - Descendants 3 Dolls are Here

We are opening Descendants 3 dolls. This is the Isle of the Lost Collections pack with Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos dolls. This set contains exclusive Jay and Carlos dolls along with Mal and Evie.

I've upgraded all other dolls multiple times but I'm still using the original Jay from Descendants 1, so it really was time to upgrade.

On the back it says, The Isle of the Lost Collection. The VKs are eager to offer bright futures to other Isle kids. Who could've thought the saviors for the villains turned out to be these four kids.

So let's talk about Jay, the most ironic person of the four. The son of Jafar, but no magic. Or at least he never showed he had magic. Part Aladdin, part Jafar. But nothing like both. He must have taken after his mother, because he's neither a schemer like his father or opportunistic like Aladdin. The black knight of the group. Very athletic. Very loyal. Soft spoken. Hates spotlight. Not particularly romantic type either even though it was suggested that girls like him a lot. He likes to offer helping hands to almost anyone who needs it.

The first thing that is very noticeably different is that Jay's hat is attached to his skull this time. It's part of his look now. His hair is softer than last time.

His hair is still about the same length, but the ends are tapered off, so I guess his hair will stay flat.

The cobra theme continues. He kept his dark crimson color. His boots are still same.

His face somewhat changed. I guess all Descendants 3 dolls went through face changes, but I think Jay's look got softer. Somewhat more every day boy look in Descendants 3.

Let's talk about Carlos. I really liked Carlos from Descendants 2. So I'm not too excited about this one. Compared to the one that came from Descendants 2 with like real hair and his fancy jacket, this one seems toned down.

Carlos is like the sweet guy. The every day guy. No magic. No particular ambition to take over the world or anything. In between Ben, Jay, he's sort of the go betweener. Everyone's friends. And a dog lover. Although in the movie, it made it sound like he's good with all animals.

The furs are back. Black and white furs for his collars.

His boots are same, as they always were, but the colors changed slightly again.

The dog bones theme continues. More black and white and less red in his color schemes this time.

This is the second Evie we unboxed from Descendants 3.

She's still wearing a short dress and leggings. The hearts, the crown and the thorns continue in this version too. This is like the simpler more everyday look Evie. Unlike the other one, this one comes with less details. Everything is printed on instead of sewn on.

I know Mal is like way more popular than Evie on this channel, but maybe that's my fault. Mal's magical powers are way more interesting. I feel like I owe it to Evie. I need to give her more depth to her character.

So we have two Evies. Unlike before where we had everyday Evie and the ballgown Evie, we have red Evie and blue Evie.

Finally, we have Mal. As if we haven't unboxed Mals already, but we can't have enough Mal. So this is a simpler everyday looking Mal. She's got a fancy silver lining in the front, but mostly, it's just a top and pants. The usual purple theme continues.

Descendants characters are interesting, because they completely flipped the heroes and villains concepts. They never said Mal was good. She doesn't follow the typical Disney princess formulas. She is allowed to be evil if she wants to, althought she eventually chooses to be good.

So we just unboxed the Isle of the Lost Collection for Descendants 3. As far as I know, this is the only set where you can get Jay and Carlos dolls. We should start creating stories with all these dolls. Start swapping out older dolls with newer dolls and put some stories behind each doll.
