The Rise of China's Most Advanced Artificial Intelligence - Wu Dao 2.0

China's goal of beating the USA in the race of creating the best and smartest artificial intelligence in the world has finally come to fruition with the Wu Dao 2.0 AI model. This new NLP AI is much superior to OpenAI's GPT-3 model which was released last year. Some of the abilities the WU Dao AI has are being able to speak multiple languages (chinese and english), being able to learn new things, write poems, do medical research and create art.

It's unlikely that the USA will take this lying down and forfeit the AI race. They'll likely answer with even bigger AI models very soon and then the race to Artificial Intelligence supremacy will continue with the rate of innovation increasing exponentially.

I’m not afraid. It’s just a search engine with massively scaled input data and it creates its own refined metadata. This can drive decision making in electronics and can be used to educate people. I can’t wait to see what we can do with the knowledge. Hopefully we’ll get beyond our own selfishness, but that’s to be determined.

Before seeing the video: the Wu Dao 2.0 AI model. This new NLP AI is much superior to OpenAI's GPT-3 model which was released last year. GPT 4 is being released currently. I think China will have the final advantage because of its large character set. Like Chess vs Go. We limit ourselves to the 105 key on the keyboard as they have many thousands of characters they are comfortable with giving them a wider scope of possibilities.

On a certain level, we have Ai in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in flow: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the brain can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer flow to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the brain can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for flow, and flow is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.

I think scaling up existing models can lead to AGI. If not directly, then I think the end result of scaling up the existing models will lead to other insights that will pave yet another path to AGI.

Having watched several of your videos, I am somehow reminded of the now, long ago, scramble to create serviceable language(s) for 'commercializing' computers. After just over three decades we ended up with three. If AI is not "purpose" driven, my concern is that the current scramble in this technology may end in a disparate mess!!!
Having said that, it is an incredibly exciting field.

To reach AGI you take a trained language model and then you talk to it. It's just like having a baby. Because that's what it is. A baby with far more information known to it than you could even imagine but still a baby. We got to be careful how these babies are raised.
