I have always loved my experience with SQ, especially with the long-haul flights. I’ve had the chance to travel the world due to work and I can say there really is a big difference in the warmth and service of Asian airlines in general (SQ, ANA, PAL, CX, Thai, etc.) as compared to Western ones. SQ really goes the extra mile even in their economy class.

The plural of aircraft is simply aircraft, no "s". At the rate SIA is going, it will continue to be the world's best airline and certainly will be the biggest one day. The middle east airlines improved much because they started by employing SIA top management staff. The success of SIA is mainly due to one man. Lee Kuan Yew. He was very much involved in running the airline and reducing the power of the pilots union so there were no strikes to inconvenient passengers. When the airline first started, Ian Batey played a great part in its branding. SIA was the only airline that jointly operated the Concorde with British Airways. SIA indeed is a great way to fly.

I still loves to travel on SQ it makes me feel at home when I board the planes to return back to Singapore however their IT and those in the department has to pull up their socks who managed as they don't display any good talent

Singapore Airlines is an ultra luxury brand. They are in the same category as the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton, and they are very exclusive. These brands cater to a small demographic of very affluent clientele and thus why they operate on a smaller and intimate scale. These brands are often more expensive as well. Just look at mid-market companies like Ryan Air and the Hilton for example. They are cheap and easily accessible to a much larger demographic.

I live in Singapore so i fly them quite often and I’ve only ever had one bad experience which was an 8 hour delay and in that situation there really wasn’t anything they could’ve done about it

SIA group has more than 2 companies.

But they have 2 airlines with a partial ownership of Vistara/Air India.

Even to become the world's largest carrier doesn't mean higher or better profitability.

best airline does not equal to best airline stock. As a small investor I never put money in airlines. It is an industry with large capital requirements and overhead, airspace restrictions, low returns similar to cruise operators try to avoid this sector.

At the early stages, SA trained in Thailand. But now TG has bankruptcy, what a shame!

Qantas administration of not so sound mind, ran a single snaking queue for all flights taking off at "different times" and last minute stomp around screaming who is not still not checked in for "Singapore" flight in Melbourne. Half the queue threw up their hands !
I threw up in the flight after having rushed in. Never Qantas ! Will stay with SIA.
