There's no doubt that China is rapidly gaining control of the automotive industry, as evidenced by their continuous release of innovative new cars. This new car, produced by BYD—one of China's leading automakers—is the BYD Qin L. The BYD Qin L has already achieved significant sales success. In 2023 alone, BYD sold 26,282 units of models similar to the Qin L, and in 2022 and 2021 combined, they sold over 50,000 units. Now, BYD is back with an updated version that features a plug-in hybrid powertrain, with a fully electric variant expected to follow.

The BYD Qin L DM-i was launched alongside the Seal 06 DM-i, both utilizing the same fifth-generation DM system and built on the same platform. The Qin L DM-i is available in five distinct trims, starting at a remarkably competitive price of $13,750, with the top trim priced at $19,300. Inspired by traditional Chinese knots, the rear light cluster forms a continuous stream across the back of the car. In terms of dimensions, the BYD Qin L DM-i measures 109.8 inches in wheelbase, 190.2 inches in length, 74.8 inches in width, and 58.9 inches in height. Its curb weight ranges from 3,660 to 3,968 pounds.
