Michio Kaku went rogue a long time ago. His last book on quantum computing was one of the most superficial, boring, and uninformative books I've ever read on the subject.

Looks like Dr Kaku can't even understand the basics of LLM's and how probability plays a big part in human intelligence and "originality". So passes them off as "glorified tape recorders". If he can blag his way through something as basic as that... doesn't leave much hope for me believing that his view on quantum computing is any more sensible :'(

Michio is an amazing guy but I'm a little confused as to *how* he thinks having more powerful, quantum, fact-checking computers will solve the problem of AI making errors. He concedes that the issue with AI is that they don't "understand" anything but then proposes that more operations per second will solve the problem because they will compile "more checks". But "understanding" > "more checks", surely? Consensus is surely *not* the only process that mediates human understanding?

There are other ways of coding and encryption that are much closer to how the Earth operates and intuitive for all humanity (not blockchain). Imo

Funny that someone like Michio could be so caught up in the cult of "one", whether you call it Mother Nature, God, source, "the universe", or whatever. Consciousness is clearly a quantum phenomenon, a distributed individualized property, and no tyrannical "one" lords it over all creation, at least not in the latest incarnations of the God time-space. The real God is only the most experienced spiritual scientist, a very successful soul who has been working toward a well-earned retirement from having to wipe the snotty noses and smelly asses of his less praiseworthy progeny for billions of years of progressively better simulation runs of an evolving divine plan.

That's the whole point of creating a self-evolving multiverse, so less savory gods and goddesses can be isolated from those who don't want to play their narcissistic games any more.
