What really impressed me about this movie is how the smiling is really easy to make unintentionally hilarious like it was in Truth or Dare, but instead it's genuinely terrifying every single time. That's no small feat.

Know my favorite part about the themes of this story? The fact that victims smile right before ending their own lives is probably a subtle reference to the fact that when people who are struggling with that desire finally decide to commit, they actually cheer up. It's a smile, but it's absolutely a twisted smile with dark undertones.

And then, of course, when someone does take their own life when people aren't expecting it, it's some of the most traumatic shit you could possibly ask to experience. Seriously, there's so many connections to actual psychology in this movie, and treating it with a deathly serious tone was the absolute best choice for this premise.

One of my absolute fave scares in this movie is when Rose is talking on the phone with the home security system and they say are you sure youre alone. Absolute chills then the actual phone ring is such s good scare. I also love how unrelenting the movie is. It never feels safe the entire time since we cant trust what Rose is seeing. And it sucks cause it shows how Rose is constantly not sure of her reality. I also find the ending creature so disturbing the imagery is burned in my brain. I honestly love love love this movie. It's scary but also has a deep meaning. Oh also Kyle Gallner being in it makes it so much better. I could talk all day about this movie. 2022 really was one of the best recent years of 2022. I cannot wait for Smile 2. I dont think it was needed but I will gladly take it especially with Kyle Galleria returning.

What if someone is immune to trauma and awful history of suicide?

I watched the movie. I wish I didn't. Not because it was bad, because it was absolutely DISTURBING. WE DON'T NEED A SECOND ONE.

This movie actually terrified me so much that I'm still affected to this day. Especially where the demon posing as Laura in stood on the dark of Dr Cotters house right at the start

Such a crazy watch but also ironic that it starts off with her calling someone crazy and that it's all in their head until its happening to her

The efforts for blurring the kill count it deserves my respect. I'm not gonna lie the movie Smile (2022), following from the other short crazy short films "Laura hasn't slept " and "The Hidebehind " all of them directed by Parker Fin, The director did it amazing. Ironically the scaring scene is when the smile person turns her head upside down, that's scary .

The score of this movie is so fucking unsettling. Even the get to the numbers bit at the end scared me… I love it!

When I watched Smile, it reminded me of the first time I watched Rosemary's baby, without knowing anything about the movie beforehand. At first I'd always assume that the protag is really just mentally ill and the illness is getting worse as their story unfolds, but then there's the final reveal showing that they were NOT crazy and this is actually some satanic black magic, sick shit going on

Totally unrelated to the video, but I just ate an entire box of Goldfish and my stomach hurts so bad because I'm lactose intolerant.

I loved SMILE, it was the first horror movie I saw in the theaters after Covid, and it was so fucking fun and suspenseful. I loved how the creature or curse was never really explained at any point, there wasn't an expert to explain it. Like Sinister or Truth or Dare where they name the demon and find out how to stop the curse even if they don't and die. The prison scene helped explain how to survive but no details about how everything started it feels like a legend or something no one can stop and it helped the uneasy nature but not having all the answers. Everything felt so real just like a normal day for everyone and it was just so simple and fun. Really loved it, also Love 2 different speedsters superheroes got cast, I know that means nothing to anyone but it was just funny when I had the realization when watching with family.

Took me a while for me to remember which one this was. But yeah, Smile is insane.

I saw this at my friend's house, late at night, and in almost complete darkness. I will say that it was creepy and honestly, I actually found most of the jumpscares either hilarious or expected. And honestly, I am confused about the curse. So someone who sees someone else commit suicide and through trauma? So is it just trauma? And even then, Rose escapes her trauma but still dies so does that imply that even if you acknowledge the trauma it still works? Because the guy in prison passed it on and yet never specified the trauma impact. And lastly, the cat scene isn’t scary, its just messed up
