When you take explosion damage, the part of your character that ''recieves'' it are the legs, so if there's a block between your legs and the explosion, you don't take damage.

If you put a block in front of a creeper or tnt while it explodes you take half a heart damage. And in your case the creeper was far away and the blocks on shipwreck saved you.

Tnt checks your feet when its explodes if not found its possible to take 0 damage

There's a thing where if you're far enough away from an explosion, you take audible damage, but that damage is 0, so you're incredibly lucky

Minecraft measures HP with 1 decimal place, but each half heart is equal to 1 HP. This means that if the explosion did under .4 damage it wouldn’t be qualified as a visible half heart, but your player would still technically be lower
