How To Hide Your Facebook Profile From Search Engines?

How to Hide Your Profile on Facebook

Facebook can be a dangerous place, but you can be safe if you limit who can see your profile - I recommend friends only.

1Log onto your Facebook profile and click on 'Account' and then 'Privacy Settings'.

2It should take you onto a screen which shows your current Privacy Settings.

3Click 'Customise Settings' and it will take you onto a new screen which says 'Things I Share' and list all the things people can see on Facebook.

4If it says 'Everyone' by this, click on it and a drop-down list will come up that lists, 'Everyone', 'Friends of Friends', 'Friends Only', and 'Customise.

5The best option to choose is 'Friends Only', so only the people you have accepted on Facebook can see your things. Click on 'Friends Only', or whatever other option you have chosen.

6Carry on doing this for each thing you share. Be patient as this may take some time.

7Click 'Back To Privacy', to go back to your settings, or 'Preview my Profile' to see how your friends will see your profile, or people you haven't accepted will see it.
