Last Train EVER On The Almaden line. (VTA Light Rail)

At only 2 miles from end to end it's shortest passenger train line in America. I ride on the last train before it was closed down on the 27th of December, 2019.

Hey idk if you still read the comments on this video but the kiosks and readers are still in place at this and the other stations along the purple line, VTA will most likely work there one day. This will, if I had to guess, probably happen once VTA constructs the new Alum Rock to Capitol extension of Orange line.

The line was originally supposed to go into Almaden Valley but the NIMBYs killed it and VTA was left with a useless stub to nowhere.

Originally when the Almaden line opened in 1991 there were 6 trips that ran directly from Almaden to Great America during peak hours only. These trips were discontinued 1993 due to operation issues. If only VTA kept it this way maybe the Almaden shuttle would have survived

Was this the one that ran past Golfland and over Blossom Hill Road? I guess I'll never have to wait at that crossing anymore lol

This line will be used for operator training and storage for LRVs.

It can’t possibly make sense to rip out that infrastructure. I can’t imagine this makes sense.

what do you think they will use the line for next?

Don't you think the Santa Teresa line would have been more logical to extend into South County than the Almaden line?
