Ok, so here is a little experiment.
I wanted to see if I could do a cover of a song in the style of composers like Ennio Morricone
I'd like to hear your thoughts, opinions and ideas.

Oh and by the way... doesn't Billie Joe Armstrong sound like the most stereotypical cowboy name ever?

As a spaghetti western nerd (seriously, I've been dedicated to watching every spaghetti western I could find the title for and I've binged on over 60 (good ones) by now), this is my feedback:

-Excellent trills on the whistles.

-Honestly, you had the right idea, you're just still just a bit too much in bardcore territory. But that's about halfway there.

-Previously mentioned, but using a more "western" sound (replace your whistle with a pan flute in this case, and use 'wider' backing chords, you're playing an accoustic guitar, not a lute, after all, you got extra strings and range)

-Use a 'loping', somewhat uneven cadence for the base rhythm. Check the titoli for My Name Is Trinity for a beat that would work for Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

-Think of it like a mise-en-scene: the music either needs to be shorter as this is a mostly idle theme meant for the sequence where the hero strolls in and we learn the town with him and it'll switch to a different track later, or it needs to have more nuances (I'd opt for a build up and turn the second part into a dramatic "showdown" variant, with violins and trumpets, like this is a final confrontation reprise of a title theme and someone's gonna die, and end it with the gunshot sound).

When you're the roughest, toughest, meanest hombre this side of the Wild Colorado... But you're also the saddest.

I've found only two Western versions so far: the first Justice League animated theme and the Game of Thrones theme. I want to hear more of this.

While I realize it would've likely been cost prohibitive, this would've been much better with an authentic whistle as opposed to the "whistle-ized" rendition present here. That being said, I love the concept.

When you go dying from the Black Plague in medieval Europe to dying of tuberculosis in a Western frontier town in the US.

RIP to Ennio Morricone, a brilliant artist who lead a fulfilling and meaningful life in shaping the sound of our favorite films.

Excellent - focuses on the melody and mood without adding lots of unnecessary effects. Excellent mood. Top notch. 10/10
