What is a core independent peripheral? This video takes a step back and provides an overview of what we're really talking about when we call something a core independent peripheral. A basic application example is presented first using a software approach and then the same example is optimized using basic core independent peripherals. Both versions of the application are then compared to help reinforce the benefits and concepts presented.

Very interesting. It would also be good to see a comparison of the time taken from the falling edge of the button being detected to the start of the one-shot pulse for safety critical applications. We can assume it will be quicker, but how much quicker? Thanks!

Why not use a timer to generate heartbeat signal? This can help to avoid a lags on blue pulses.
