"don't let society tell you what you can't be".
- Jacob Batalon

To see him owning his height so publicly and so confidently...it's like he's giving me the permission to be as confident. Very liberating. Also props to Zendaya and Jacob for being such supportive friends

Man this interview made me smile so much, short men and tall women need to stop being stigmatised or stereotyped in our societies

The irritating part is how self conscious society has made us. We really analyze every part of ourselves to fit a mould that who the heck knows created. It’s so stupid. All these stereotypes are annoying & affect our lives. We can joke about it or brush it off but for some it really messes with them psychologically & the world taunting them or the topic just makes it worse. That’s really sad. We’re just people. The only mould we should fit is being kind to one & other. The end.

I actually kinda like their height difference. They look gorgeous together - on and off screen

And they don’t even have to address the haters, their confidence speaks for themselves

I love how you could SEE the breath of relief fall over the cast when they realized the way she wanted to phrase her question. Like, they clearly enjoyed talking with her. Love this interviewer.

The interviewer really surprised them & it was so refreshing. They constantly get the same crap from the public, “fans” & media. So the natural reaction is here we go again. It looked like they could finally speak their truth & be at ease. I was actually surprised with Zendaya. She’s always with taller guys & she would always pick on Tom for being short. I didn’t know about her parents or that she didn’t ever really think about it being an issue in a romantic way. This is what’s nice about life. You get to know people better by actually letting them express themselves instead of imposing on them.

I'm a 5'4 cancer survivor. Cancer in my teen years stunted my growth, I would have been average height at least if not for my sickness. It's really difficult dealing day to day as a short man, especially in dating, even girls a lot shorter than me reject me, so I appreciate Zendaya and Tom breaking those barriers.

I actually agree with Jacob when he said that he's surprised that this is even a conversation. This is a normal thing and we should treat it as such. I was surprised to see that she even spent 3 minutes on this topic, like it's so unnecessary. Same feeling as praising a chubby person about their confidence in their weight; like why are we praising tomdaya for being a normal functioning couple. Yes they're not misogynistic and that's the bare minimum. The day we stop applauding people for being normal decent humans is the day we evolve as a society. Why can't we just treat differences as a NORMAL THING? THEY ARE.

Tom is a role model. He is so confident, he doesn't let his height get in the way. Gives a lot of people, young and old, the inspiration to own their height. Our KING 🙌

Wow this interviewer is fantastic!! She structured her question well and then articulated her viewpoint in relation to their responses and kept the conversation going fluidly. Super productive discussion.

Its really weird that she calls it misogynistic when it is women who enforce the height requirements. A man being shorter is one of the number one deal breakers for women as far as physical attraction goes. They wont even give you the chance to introduce yourself sometimes.

A lot of women refuse to date shorter men. I feel if anything this is a stereotype perpetuated by women unfortunately. Most girls I know want taller men. But I am sure their are men who get butt hurt about dating tall women. That sounds more like a character issue. If a woman is taller than a man she should still be valued just as someone shorter.

Adding my name to the petition to have this displayed as listed. Such a refreshing interview. 🖊😌

I’m taller than my husband, so I love that they’re positively representing this on film and in their relationship.

When on dating sites, height is the number one question asked. It’s refreshing to see that not all women value height over everything else

Maybe Zendaya liked him even more for that reason as her dad was smaller and that’s what she was used to. It’s commonly believed girls unconsciously find partners with similar traits to their father.
