I’m gonna try to explain from what I know!
So there’s two sides and 6 wells (the spots you put the pieces in) on each side. Put four pieces in each well, each person gets the six wells on their side. To start the game, one person takes the pieces in one well. Going (I think) clockwise, put one piece in each well until you get to your goal (the big well on each side of the board). From there, put one into your goal and keep going putting one in each well until you run out. Keep repeating that process until one side runs out of pieces in every well. The opposite side takes all their pieces in the wells on their side. Count the amount of pieces in each goal, whoever has the most wins!

The way I was taught was mostly the same except after a movement, you would pick up everything in the last well you dropped the pieces and move again. Basically you have to think two steps ahead. And each person owns every well on the same panel as their goal. I also don’t move after getting one in a goal. I didn’t know that this was not the way most people played it!

As a military brat I grew up with this game. There are actually many ways you can play. The rules change by region so depending on who you talk to the small details are different. The only consistent rules I've seen are skipping the opponent's goal and going again if you land in your goal. This way of playing is actually new to me. :)

Ohhh I never knew hoe to play it, always just liked sorting the colors and looking at the pretty pieces. (The only ones I'd seen before this channel had, like, translucent colored glass stoned that were very smooth and pretty lol)

You also can take all of the stones in your opponents well if your last stone ends in an empty space on your side.

I was always thought that if you land in an empty well you get to take that piece and all the pieces in the opposite well. Also that the game ends once someone is out of pieces but the other person doesn’t get the pieces left on there side. It’s cool seeing all the different ways people play :)

Another thing is when you place 1 in an empty spot across fron your opponent, you can steal the pieces across from their spot
