Normal Rogue: Who are you?
Steinhardt Rogue: I’m you, but I graduated from the shadows.

I'm currently in a Bloodborne-esque campaign and one of the members are playing this type of rogue, they are soooo deadly, can't believe how much damage they can do

I see people worrying that this is a paladin, so let me break it down:

- You get a holy weapon that you can use sneak attack with. Soulknife also get an exclusive weapon, so view it in this lens, except that instead of tiny psychic daggers, it's a blade of light.
- You get divine points to gain a few powers, notably dodge better, retry to hit on a miss or evade damage better, and the sword shower I mentioned, which are all part of the rogue package (apart from the last one)
- You get 1st level cleric spells, and a few cantrips
- at later level, damage can't break concentration on these spells (similar to the fathomless warlock).
- finally you get to use spirit guardians, though you can lose concentration on that one as normal, and the spirits count as allies for the purpose of your sneak attack.

So it stays very much a rogue focused on dodging, they just have more radiant powers :)

The idea is that they are henchmen of the church, doing their bidding from the shadows.

Take Care!

"Shinobi, I know your ways. You are using the shadows to hide. But me, I was taught to use the light."

there's blinded in darkness and then there's blinded in your incandescent radiance.

I got the chance to read the subclass and I love it! It adds a holy hunter flavor to the rogue. Contrary to popular belief, it plays radically different from a dex based paladin. Aestetically it is much different from the as well, since theres more of a focus on the rogues quick thinking and reactability to defend. Finally, removing concentration saves on the spells was the right move. This feature comes on at level 13, the spells are all level 1, and the rogue cannot afford to take feats to protect concentration.

The whole video, I was expecting a record-scratch at the end where he realizes he just re-invented the Avenger from 4E.

You mad genius, you did it. With this Blade of Radiance Rogue mutliclassed with Oath of Vengeance Paladin I'll finally be able to play the 4e Avenger class in 5e!

Steinhardt backer, btw. Can't wait for the physical stuff!

A rogue that bask in the light instead of hiding in the shadow.

I made a similar concept of the larger harder strokes, but called them Hellions (name inspired by earlier editions) and they were like street brawler dirty shot attacking while your down kind of fighter with a little bit of arcane power for an extra touch of cheating

This reminds me of deliverers in pathfinder. They are a sub-class of slayers that are usually warriors devoted to a patron. Their main gimmick on top of the slayer proficencies was the ability to deal way more damage to enemies with the different alignment to them, and the further away they are on the alignment chart the more damage they delt.

Really a good idea since a lot of enemy types in pathfinder share alignments so you could plan around it.

But you seem to have given them a lot more flavour so they seem like a divine casting version of the Arcane trickster. Which makes them way more interesting.

Simply a Rogue/Paladin or Rogue/Cleric Multiclass.

So I took clerics but instead they are the deities and the gods pray to them for power.

Gives another way to play a Belmont without resorting to Monk/Fighter + holy weapon

Oooo baybee i bought this module from his kickstarter, the ways you can branch the story on your own as a dm without the guided missions is amazing
Definitrly worth the buy

Are the summoned swords that crush enemies a reference to Vergil from dmc?

That's very cool, in my current campaign there's this rogue guild that's good, they work as spies, sometimes having to bend the rules of good a bit but ultimately keeping peace, avoiding wars and silently getting rid of evil and tyrannical leaders, I also use one of them to give quests to the players, as they have lots of information and often have need of a job done by people with more brute force and less stealth

My rogue Ulonnee is a complicated lad. He's the teams healer, a shadar kai that likes potion making. Oh. And he's a serial killer. He gets the itch, and if the dm doesn't give him the opportunity to relieve it, he will poison a well or some random customer's drink at a tavern.
