So there's one thing missing from this video and it's Baltimore's importance to the Air Force 1. Nike actually discontinued them after 2 years, so they weren't always the beloved shoe they are now. Thanks to a shop owner in Baltimore continuously ordering them, they were the only place you could get them and it persuaded Nike to start production again. Nike even admitted to it in an ad for a special Baltimore colorway

I've lived in Japan for 3 and 1/2 years and the AF1 and the Air Max 1, 90, and 95 have been heavily embraced by the Japanese culture. As well as New Balance

AF1s are def one of the best of all time. IMO the GOAT is Chuck Taylor All-Stars tho. They might be overlooked by sneakerheads but they’ve been relevant for literally over a hundred years - you just can’t beat that

Onitsuka Tiger is another sneakers that have been loved for decades and years prior to Nike AF1. There's also Adidas Superstar as well as Adidas Samba prior to that. There are just so many sneakers worthy of GOAT status.

My first pair was last year and I'm 42 now. First pair was color of the month retro baby blue. Now I have five pair. Love them

I'm female and as far as Nikes, I have both Air Force 1s (custom designed ones), Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low, and some other Nike styles. For me, my first choice is my Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low sneakers. I find the Air Force 1s heavy, clunky, and also too hot on my feet in the hot months. But, I wear the Air Jordans all year round. Nike isn't the only brand of sneakers that I own, but I do have quite a few pairs of Nikes as they fit my feet really well.

The one and only gripe i have with af1 is the weight, its too heavy for me lol. If i want the swoosh on my feet and giving out the similar vibe as the af1 I'll go for dunks, aj1 or even blazers. But with that said i still have 3 pairs of forces in my collection

They are for all the reasons you listed. And I don't wear them anymore. Haven't since '06 BUT I love customizing them as they ALONG with DUNKS are the perfect canvas to paint on. When one has global status that you touched on AND a damn song about them nobody can really say otherwise. At that point they would just be letting their personal taste get in the way.

💯 agreed. I have a pair of black low tops and they're in great condition, plus I can polish them too. I like jordans too but air force ones are better priced and last longer imo.

Yes, they are. The cool thing with these, you can customize them in a wide variaty of colors and materials. It's a timeless looking sneaker. Whenever I'm riding on my bike ☝🏾an emtb that is, i wear my own custom made made AF1.
