Russian President Vladimir Putin received a red carpet welcome from Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Beijing on Thursday (May 16), as he seeks greater support for his war effort in Ukraine and isolated economy. The Russian leader's two-day trip to China is his first since his March inauguration, and the second in just over six months.
