If your father is self-centered, vain, doesn't take criticism well, wants perfection, and gets into rages, he may be a narcissist. Narcissistic fathers' daughters may feel as if they never get enough attention. Sons of narcissistic fathers may believe they will never be good enough. If you have experienced some of these signs, then you might have been raised by a narcissist.

1. live through their child 0:29
2. they put their child down 1:00
3. parade the image of their child 1:33
4. constant manipulation 1:58
5. dependency 2:30
6. neglect 3:07

Are there any other signs that we might have missed?

Do you know someone who might have been victim to narcisistic parenting?

My general anxiety disorder with the occasional panic attack that lasts for 14 hours is a direct result from being Raised by a military, alcoholic, narcissistic father. My childhood was absolute hell until my parents separated at the age of 25 . It's no laughing matter having a parent who was a genuine narcissist. You couldn't pay me enough to relive my childhood.

This describes my dad perfectly and it makes me sad. I don’t feel safe alone without my mom, when she leaves sometimes to eat with her friends I feel scared.

I love how she showed Todoroki and his father as a reference that goes hand-in-hand with the title.

It’s sad that sometimes people don’t know it’s happening to them

I love all the character references in here. For those who know these characters and how they act, it really helps paint a better picture even if they’re not textbook examples. It’s nice :)

I honestly see my father as a semi-narssicistic person, but he doesn't really deprived us with love. He just want things to be in his own way (which may cause some fights), or doesn't admit his own faults. Although, even he just a wee bit of a narssicist, it honestly already took a toll on our family life. These attacks are focused to my mother, much to my dismay. He always fights mom and finds a way to blame her everything. My mom tells me she wants to leave us, but she is locked in this situation because of me. The critical hit of all, he doesn't change. ANY life lesson that was thrown to him, he just throws it back and goes on whatever he's doing. He doesn't change because he doesn't listen, he doesn't change because he thinks he knows what he's doing.

Honestly, thinking about it, he's worst than what I perceive him before. I keep hoping for his safety, he currently is suffering on injuries from an accident he could've avoided if he ever listens to us. But, alas, it's the loop that we've been in all over again.

Im dealing with this crap right now. I blew up at my family a few days ago, because of their toxicity towards me lately and lying to me and trying to control every darn thing about my life, because he is so misreable with his own life, and feels the need to still control me at 25, im a grown man not a kid. Sorry about my rant and vent, but i've developed soo much anger from the past abuse, trauma, rudeness. Always has to lecture me, and you wonder why I blow up and have meltdowns. I can't wait to move out.

Both my parents are narcists, I believe that's what binds them.
It's not easy trying to love them, they both have such a distorted way of looking at the world.
Man I was raised in a very screwed up way, just like the majority of us these days.

1:48 I love how Endeavor is talking about how great he is and All Might is looking at him like Yeah... Sure you are Endeavor... Sure..."

My step father is a covert narcissist, the worst type and not the most common. A covert narcissist don't TELL you they are they best, they make you BELIEVE that they are through subtle verbal manipulation or something like that. I'm not the best at explaining it but it's best to do more research on books and articles about covert narcissists. It was hard living with that, especially with a man who raised me since I was little, and just up and abandoned his family. He was especially toxic to my mother and older sister, but I have a hard time remembering bc my brain had blocked out the trauma, which is something I'm trying to work on. It's good to know different types of things, especially narcissism, my family and I didn't figure this out until this year, after my parents divorced.
Thanks for listening to my TED talk ✌️

After seeing this video I’m having flashbacks to how horrible my father treated me ever since I was born that I am a broken man in my late 20s with constant fear on how to raise my children since he even talked down on them as well

Being raised by a narcissistic father has made me horrible at seeing that red flag in others. It has made me adept at dealing with my ridiculous bosses. It has made me blind to my horrible choices in lovers & partners. I suck at trusting people because of these life patterns. It blazes a scar across my entire time-line and didn't stop the day I moved out and cut ties.

Coming from the biggest One Piece fan with a Narcissistic father, this was by far my favorite and most cathartic video of yours I have watched. Thank you.

I love all of the animation media references in these. Makes it more fun to watch, but it also puts it into a visual perspective that viewers can connect the dots to by drawing parallels to the shows /movies and real life

I love the anime refrences. Another example would be Lucy's dad from Fairytail.
