Many developers are turning to virtual private servers to host their projects, and for good reason, unlike shared hosting environments, you are not risking someone else's poorly written code that results in poor performance or (still bad) compromising your site. Because of someone else's insecure programming.

With a virtual private server, you have complete control over the software available to you and you can fine-tune the server to meet your exact needs. But setting up a secure VPS takes some work and some learning.

This course will take you through the basics of setting up a fast, secure VPS at Linode, DigitalOcean, AWS Lightsail, Vultr, or any other provider that offers VPS Linux hosting. We will set up an Ubuntu 20.04 server with all the necessary software and make sure it is locked as securely as possible. We will also go through the best practices to add users, software, and services and ensure that we have chosen the right type of server for a specific project. We will learn how to apply public and private keys for secure access using SSH, how to edit files on remote servers via command line using vi or nano/pico, how to use the most common and useful Linux command-line programs, and how to configure the most popular and useful server software.

And some popular databases like Postgres, MariaDB.Then I will teach you some basic operating system configuration and VPS hosting.
