Decline of Christianity in the Western world

The decline of Christianity in the Western world is the decreasing Christian affiliation in the Western world. While most countries in the Western world were historically almost exclusively Christian, the post-World War II era has seen developed countries with modern, secular educational facilities shifting towards post-Christian, secular, globalized, multicultural and multifaith societies.
While Christianity is currently the predominant religion in Latin America, Europe, Canada and the United States, the religion is declining in many of these areas, particularly in Western Europe, North America, and Oceania. A decline in Christianity among countries in Latin America's Southern Cone has also contributed to a rise in irreligion in Latin America.
In the West, since at least the mid-twentieth century there has been a gradual decline in adherence to established Christianity. In a process described as secularization, "unchurched spirituality" is gaining more prominence over organized religion.

Correction. In the latest CSO (census figures) 77% of Irish people identified as Catholic, 13% identified as non religious.
These figures on their own however, are quite misleading. On the one hand it's now impossible to leave the RRC via a simple declaration of defection, as Pope Benedict changed Canon law making that much more complicated. Therefore if people were to answer that question candidly they would have to say 'catholic' regardless. So at face value this figure is at least plausible.

But read on....

We're you to look at say, academic studies or even the RRC's own stated evidence the true picture emerges. Around 1980 attendance was around 90%, 2008 44%, 2018 32%. (Iona institute survey).

These are borne out by the Association of Catholic Priests study in 2012- 35%.
This isn't a church bucking the trend as you conclude. Further it does cast a dubious eye on how you draw conclusions from data overall.
It becomes completely specious when you state that in one case (UK Anglican) an apparent rise in attendance is due to it embracing patriotism. I'm not convinced flag-waving has anything to do with faith.
