Goat Butcher: fur torching method

Показать описание
Every once in while, my father likes to drag me along to slaughter and butcher a goat. Not something I necessarily enjoy, but he loves to keep his freezer stocked with goat meat throughout the year and I am the only on out of all my siblings who is willing to assist him. My dad is no goat butchering expert! I always watch him and wonder if there are better ways to butcher a goat. None the less, its good bonding time between father and son. My father is Hmong and Hmong people (or at least from what I have seen) prefer to torch the fur on the animal instead of skinning it. I know that this is not the most popular method, but it is the Hmong way. Enjoy the video and leave a comment down below for any tips or advice!

Your father is very skilled. Very rare to see Americans eat internal organs. I am now a subscriber.

Nice video 👍
Respect to the people who use the whole animal and don’t waste much.

Thank you for posting this. I needed a video to show a butcher how to singe goat hair.

Thanks to you for posting this. Please say hi to your dad from me he did a good job selecting the most efficient tools for the job. I am from Jamaica and this dish is very popular there. I only found out recently that the skin is very good in soup. I have been looking for a good method to clean the skin your method is very good. Thank you .

This is the same process for killing and cleaning goats in Nigeria, no difference at all. I want, to ask if your dad has been to Africa, especially, sub-saharan Africa. We smoke and cut our goat meat with the skin too and it's very palatable. Thumbs up to you and your dad. You made this video interesting to watch.

Very fascinating. One question: what is the smell factor like when the butchering begins? I can only imagine that it is horrendous, but I cannot say that I have ever had the experience of butchering and preparing a goat.

Pinapaitan is the Philippine dish, it's a kind of soup filled up with internal organ of a goat or cow, to make it bitter, we should put a 1 or 2 drops of goat or cow bile

It is indeed better to have the skin on to enjoy full-flavoured meat.

This is exactly how we process goat meat. Burnt skin has a unique flavor in the meat. Sometimes, instead of burning the skin, we pour hot water on the goat skin and shave the fur with sharp knife and razor blades but that has different taste than burnt skin. Like your dad, we eat almost everything of the goat.

Goats the cleanest animals, feeding only on grass, scrubby woods, shrubs, or weeds. In some culture, eating goat is an herbal remedy for your health.

Love the way Hmong people butcher. When my dad butchers, nothing goes to waste. Love eating the organ meats.
