Par 5 7th at St Mellion | Golf

Some thoughts for winter golf. The balls not flying due to temperatures and extra layers, so club up (like I haven’t with the second shot) 😅

With the ground being so soft it’s important to use the bounce. Chip/pitch with your wedge that has the most bounce, normally your sand wedge.

I have played the third shot with my lob wedge at 6 bounce, got the hands ahead of the ball at impact and the leading edge digs in for a fat. With hindsight my sand wedge at 12 bounce would have given me the extra leeway for a decent result.

7 hole st St Mellion is a 505 yard tight par 5, always gets you attention 👌
