Sporting have confirmed the amount they will receive from Manchester United after Ruben Amorim was confirmed as Erik ten Hag's successor.

Amorim will take charge of United on November 11 once he has fulfilled his obligations at his current club.

United have paid around £10.6m to appoint the former midfielder, which included extra payments to release him from his 30-day notice period.

His first game in charge will be against Ipswich on November 24, live on Sky Sports.

A statement from Sporting read: "Sporting has reached an agreement with Manchester United FC (hereinafter MUFC) in relation to the terms and conditions of the departure of coach Rúben Amorim, in return for which MUFC will pay Sporting €11,000,000 (£9.2m).

"In addition, Sporting will have a benefit of €1,658,000 (£1.4m), relating to the extinction of credit rights, recorded as liabilities and contingent liabilities, as a result of the revocation and renegotiation of contracts relating to intermediation commissions. Lisbon, November 1, 2024. The Market Relations Representative."

I wish him well but I'm worried that he'll crumble under the pressure that pundits like Gary Neville Roy Keane Rio Ferdinand etc will put on him. Those pundits expect managers to win every match and expect them to perform like they were under Sir Alex but they cant accept that those days are gone and we need a rebuild.

Him coming in so early in the season may benefit us quite nicely. No one will be expecting much from the 11th of November to the end of the season but it gives him enough time to evaluate who he wants to keep, who needs to go and who he wants to bring in with little pressure.

A bit of a gamble and he’s going to need time to mould Utd into Premier League contenders. The amount of money Utd have wasted since SAF retired is eye watering

It is kind of boring that just about 10 clubs buys the best players and coaches. When Leicester won PL, they sold most players. Now Amorin. I understand they need money. But is that the whole story?
