We begin outside the Acropolis Museum Athens Greece. Even if you don't go inside, the building is a masterpiece, blending modern architecture with ancient history. I often say if the Acropolis is the crown of Athens, this museum is its jewel box.

Next, we stroll down one of the quaint streets leading into Plaka. It's like stepping into a postcard - charming houses, vibrant bougainvillaea, and the sweet aroma of Greek coffee wafting through the air.

We then make a quick stop at the Ioannis Makriyannis Statue. This unsung hero of the Greek War of Independence deserves a nod. Plus, it's an excellent spot for a quirky selfie.

Now, behold the Arch of Hadrian, also known as Hadrian's Gate. This monumental gateway almost whispers tales of ancient processions that once passed under its arches. Stand beneath it and feel like a Roman emperor – minus the laurel wreath, of course.

Next, we arrive at bustling Syntagma Square. It's the heart of Athens, pulsating with life and energy.

A walk down Ermou Street is a must for window shoppers and people watchers. This buzzing thoroughfare combines modern Athens with a hint of traditional charm.

Don't miss the Church of Panagia Kapnikarea, one of the oldest churches in Athens and a beautiful example of a Greek Orthodox Church.

Feeling peckish? Thanasis Restaurant is where you can grab possibly the best Souvlaki and Gyros in Athens. It's not technically free, but your taste buds will thank you.
