A real four dimensional roller coaster would entail you teleporting to the top of the hill instantly at the beginning

Imagine a 4D-coaster with the option to "lock" the seat, so you could control if you want to spin around, or face a certain direction.

They need to build more X2 model types here in the US. I've ridden it at SFMM and it is the best one hands down...just wish it wasn't all the way in California. The Green Lantern model is a little rough and the Joker model is too short. You get more of a "full" coaster feeling on the X2. Worth the trip out to Cali though, that park is amazing!!

It's a shame Arrow went out of business. They were TRUE innovators, including inventing the first steel coaster, the grand daddy of them all, Matterhorn at Disneyland. Arrow tried to partner with Vekoma, but was betrayed by them once Arrow taught Vekoma some of their industrial techniques. To be fair, Arrow coasters have a rough ride compared to B&M coasters, which are smooth as glass.

Interesting idea, and I like how these 4D coasters are becoming more and more common over the years.

I've done one so far, and it caught me by surprise! First time I've been scared from a coaster in a long time!

Personally, I really enjoy 4D coasters in the vein of X2 (fixed/planned rotation). The experience is a lot of fun, lots of "don't know if I'm coming or going", and periods of great acceleration effects (including floating bits). The Zackspins, on the other hand, I completely disliked. Slow bits of not much happening followed by moments of weird movement as you flip down to a lower track, accompanied by rotation that's not that exciting. Also felt like more of a fixed ride experience than a coaster to me. The newer editions that both look like each leg is longer (with forced rotations) may be better, I haven't ridden one of those yet.

I'm going to Six Flags MM in about a week, and very much looking forward to riding X2 a few times again. :)

Awesome video! The animations you used really helped to explain some of the concepts.

I’ve been on The Joker at Six Flags New England (6:21) and it’s one of my favorite rides in the park. I can’t get enough of it

Hearing that luscious, velvety voice of Harry's on a biweekly basis makes me flip head over heels.

Definitely another great video.

The Intamin Zac Spin coaster is definitely interesting.
I have explained this coaster to people as being a cross between X2 and a wild mouse coaster.

I actually rode joker at Great America. I had a really fun ride the first time I went on it, but I went on it again, and I got a lot of thrashing around and head banging. Probably because S&S’s 4D models are unpredictable. I usually have really fun rides on them, though.

We have the S&S Freespin model here at Six Flags over Texas. It's quite a wild ride! I enjoy it immensely!

The GP probably call 4D coasters "The flip-around coaster"

Wouldn't a new Zacspin themed after Sonic The Hedgehog be cool?

This popped up in my recommended list and I'm intrigued. My home park has an S&S 4D free fly and I'm planning a trip there sometime soon.

I have been on a 4d roller coaster it was fun and I was wondering why the lines were so short, and now I realize some people think it is uncomfortable. I personally thought it was fun and I enjoyed the different ride experience each ride. The first time I only rotated about once, but on the second I rotated several times. I loved how when you flipped around, you were pushed against or away from your seat.
