What Is Rivet's Role? (Theories) | Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Rivet is our newest addition to the Ratchet & Clank cast. But what will her role be in the story of Rift Apart?

New info added! Insomniac posted a character bio for Rivet that reads "Trust no bot". But could that mean Clank as well?

I have a theory, like that, in her dimension Nefarious won and Ratchet was or robotized or even killed, and Rivet was about to be robotized but she escaped mid-process, hence her right arm is only robotized.
Maybe she knows who Ratchet is in her dimension and follows his steps to stop her dimension's Nefarious.

She’s gonna be Ratchet’s new love interest
She’s Ratchet’s daughter in the future
She’s Ratchet’s long lost sister
She’s Ratchet’s female counterpart

Yeah I see some people shipping her with Ratchet on some fan sites but yeah I too also remember Sasha, I also remember Angela but she's not mentioned in the latest.

I think Rivet is the daugther of the guardian in her dimension but the guardian was an alternitive Alister Azimuth.

Ok so i played Tools of destruction a few months ago again and when they talked about the Lombaxes Dimesionator and deserting and running to other dimensions to be safe could Rivet be part of Ratchet’s dimension originally

That would be interesting if rivet was the final boss of rift apart and not nefarious. Similar to how with a crack in time, azimuth turned out to be the final boss of that game. What a crazy twist that was am I right?

My guess is that Ratchet in her world was a close friend, kind of similar to how Tawna's futuristic counterpart is written in Crash 4: It's about time. Perhaps, the two were friendly rivals, who had a budding relationship growing between them, when Nefarious winds up offing Ratchet in her world. Therefore, when she sees the other Ratchet show up suddenly, she's convinced she's seen a ghost. Though she eventually figures out that he's a different Ratchet and the two work together to stop Nefarious. As for her clank-bot, my guess is that he's a souvenir that her universe's Ratchet passed onto her as a passing gift, in the hopes that she'll stop Nefarious.

It's kind of a mouthful, and there are some corners that need to be smoothened out. But that's my general theory.

Well, in my theory about a brand new character named Rivet; a female Lombax, she didn't just lose her arm, her arm has been probably caught by Emperor Nefarious' Biobliterator, I guess.

And other theory, I don't think that Rivet could be the final boss of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart just like General Alister Azamuth as the final boss of Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, I only prefer for Emperor Nefarious will be the final boss of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
Rivet could be a good ally to Ratchet and Clank.

And my other theory, I wonder that what happened to Rivet's robot companion as her best friend. Did Rivet's robot companion turn against her and joined with Nefarious long before Rivet met Clank in her dimension?
I don't know. Who knows? We're gonna wait and see without spoilers.

And my last theory, I already know that Talwyn Apogee is currently Ratchet's girlfriend, because Rivet is NOT Ratchet's girlfriend. I think Rivet is possibly Ratchet's sister when she was borned in Planet Fastoon along with Ratchet was borned before the Lombaxes left into another dimension and Ratchet, Rivet, Alister Azamuth, Ratchet's father: Kaden and Ratchet's mother were left behind during the attacked by Emperor Tachyon and his army of Drophyd.
I don't know yet either. But we're gonna wait and find out sooner or later without spoil it.

And P.S.: I can't wait to play as Rivet in the gameplay, and I can't wait to get my hands on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PS5 by June 11th in only two more months away!

My thoughts on her are she might end up as Ratchet's mother. I mean, Rivet seems like she saw Ratchet before. Mother will always recognize her child.

I know it sounds crazy but I still believe in that plot twist.

I think she is Ratchet of this crazy dimension. If, I mean, when he finds her, it will look like he is talking to himself. Or the reverse for her perspective. And both will be curious.

They may end up together in the end, or may not. With each one going to theri own world but keeping the memory. Idk

she clearly remembers Ratchet but doesn't know where from. my guess is that she's continuing his work to stop Nefarious after he got rid of Ratchet or he is related to him somehow (sister, cousin or even daughter or mother. after all, they have many similarities)

I noticed that in the new trailer, Nefarious says they are going to a dimension where he always wins. In the other trailer, Ratchet destroyed his dimentionanator, so how was he able to use it? I think that there's going to be two dimensions, one where Nefarious always wins, and one where Nefarious always loses. They might defeat both Nefarous's when they team up - if they team up?

So, this is a weaksauce theory on my part, but her character bio mentions her base is on Sargasso. In ToD, Sargasso was the home of a Lombax testing facility. So maybe Rivet has been trying to construct a Dimensionator of her own to recruit allies to stop Emperor Nefarious' forces.

I think the trailer also shows one of the giant Torren IV robots firing on space pirate ships, so maybe the pirates in Rivet's dimension are more cooperative than the ones in Ratchet's? Or at least enough of a nuisance for Emperor Nefarious to want them gone, unlike Tachyon who just let Slag do whatever he felt like.

I also had an idea of her being the real bad guy. There is just something off about her and having simillar tools to Rachet could mean she is a version of him or she took the tools after she you know, killed him. Also if her killing Nefarius is real then there are othet questions. Does she meaybe just want to be a new emperor or something like that.
