PLEASE NOTE: I misunderstood the way roster lockout happens. It is not when you Join. I spoke with my point of contact at CG, and this is the answer I got: "The player lock happens at match making so they have the entire preview phase to change their characters and rosters but once the setup phase starts and they have an opponent they can no longer make changes to their roster."
