Having the exposed pin holes and lack of panel pieces makes this feel like a classic technic set in a really cool way. A really smart candidate for a Lego set and looks to be executed well

This is the BEST Lego Technic set for 2024. It maintains the historical roots of what is the essence of Technic.

I think that they did an absolutely brilliant job in using brick-built details rather than stickers or new panels! It may not look as neat as other sets, but there is a charm to seeing all of the angles created by clever solutions from existing pieces.

The best looking Technic from this year's lineup. But from the innovativity perspective I think the best one is the Mars Rover. 😊

I don’t always watch your videos because I want to buy the set, sometimes, your videos are just an AWESOME source of entertainment!!! Keep up the EXCELLENT work!!!

I think, my opinion this is exactly why I like Lego technic. It looks amazing and offers so many functions. So this Mercedes G wagon looks absolutely great, I really should get it.

Then there is the stickers problem. I have hard time putting on stickers sometimes and Lego honestly just needs to do printed instead of stickers like everywhere that requires a sticker should be printed.

Thank you for the review racingbrick!

The defender looks better even though it is older. Nice set btw.

12:30 Your Defender's suspension had get softer under the weight.
it will happen the same with this G Class.

This is a really solid base for modding - I think many will buy it for that purpose. If I bought it, I'd definitely use the space at the back for a pneumatic tank, then enhance some functions with pneumatic control (ie sunroof, hood, rear diff lock) - it is large enough to have the cylinders and cables hidden nicely.

Nice addition to my Defender collection as "The Dark Side"

cost of living is fundamentally expensive, but this set is honestly so well priced.
This looks like its more fun to have laying around once its built compared to other Technic sports car sets.
This looks so satisfying to complete and play around with it.

Firstly Yeti FTW! As I’m driving one myself too.
Secondly this set is a damn good candidate for proper motorisation. It has a good suspension, steering and diff locks. And a lot of space inside.
Who would like to watch this badass g-wagon on some rough terrain? 🎉

4:38 - Don't know how it works in real mercedes, but some transfer cases have neutral position, especially mechanically operated ones. They often don't have synchronisers like the main gearbox and require vehicle to be stopped or rolled at very very low speed (so neutral in between hi and low helps to make the change smoother). Also, vehicle can be towed when transfer case is set to neutral, even with automatic main gearbox. At least thats how it all works in my wrangler and a few 4WDs i had a chance to use offroad.

Great review, as always.

Have to say, even though there are mote tapes to cut, I really like LEGO for going for a more practical way of making their boxes. usually it's opening the side and throwing all the bags out, you now have a clean way top open the box and inspect the content without making a mess.

I went through almost 20 years without missing/wrong parts. Now I'm seeing it in 1/10 sets I purchase. The pricing is going up while the quality control is going down.

I think that the back seat is able to fold down so you can put the engine cover in there

I think this will have to go next to one of my favorite Technic sets, the 8110 Mercedes Unimog.

Thanks for the heads up on the wrong part and mistake in the instructions. It’s a cool build, but the color is a bit loud. My granddaughter would like the color. You do a great video, I really enjoy them.
