Please don't say like". When using "like" in reference to an appearance you need a point of comparison, as in "what it looks like" which specifies the point of comparison to "what". When using "how" a description is directly referenced, and there is no explicit comparison so "like" has nothing to act upon. To make this simple, your grammatically correct options are (1) "How it looks", and (2) "What it looks like".
