This isn't just a technique; it's a revelation that struck me unexpectedly and has deepened my understanding of myself and my connections with others.

I stumbled upon this insight during a simple moment at my mom's house, which led to a cascade of realizations about how we perceive and are perceived by the people in our lives. It's about truly seeing ourselves from the outside and understanding the impact we have on those around us.

This episode is all about flipping the lens and understanding how others truly perceive you to help you connect more deeply, care more genuinely, and become more intentional with every interaction.

-Increase Your Influence: Learn how to be a better persuader and marketer by seeing your efforts through the eyes of your audience.

Whether you're a parent, friend, leader, or entrepreneur, embracing this mindset can profoundly change how you relate to others and how they view you. Dive into this episode to start seeing through a new lens—one that could redefine your approach to relationships and communication for the better.

I saw a quote once "I wish you can see, WHAT I SEE IN YOU, through my eyes". Like Ed said, could be harmful and yet it could be used in uplifting, inspiring, loving way to raise someone up. To help them see themselves in a different way. Good stuff as always sir.

I love these kind of your solo videos more than the podcast ones. Please make more of these in which you take a certain topic and talk about it.

It's a humble request. If anyone else feels the same, please hit the like button to let him know

After hearing that podcast, I caught myself reflecting on every interaction I've had recently. It's humbling to realize how differently I might come across to others compared to how I see myself.

Beautiful video Ed. It made me think of the Bible scripture "to love your neighbor as yourself." We need to learn that true love is not a one way street, but to truly love we need to understand how people see us. Blessings 🙏 friend

oh gosh, at 1.07 of you speaking about your mom, I was in tears. For a moment i didn't know if I could continue. Of course I did. And grateful I did. What a beautiful concept of switching the lens and perspective of how we are seen by others. Thank you, Ed. Funny, because I woke up stating, Who am i really? Do I know myself enough? Why am I still here? What is my mission for life now? This was such a life-altering moment listening to you today. If I am thinking of myself, am I ego-centric? I pray not. Love that you brought up how it's a must to be genuine. This was so in line with my own worries... about others and how people see me... in all aspects. How we need to be sincere with others and a deeper understanding of who we each are and our place in this world. Love is such a true gift. You're a wonderful soul, Ed. I teared up again, when you said, 'there you are!' when walking into a room...how sweet, beautiful and sensitive. Love is our greatest gift to foster into our hearts. We must see, in the one time passing with a stranger when we connect -- it is Christ too we see. Keep challenging us all. Ed, you're a true warrior of change for your community here I am thankful I am one of them. Loving life, business and the interconnectedness of souls on this planet. Many thanks for a terrific, heartwarming, stirring of my own soul and how I can reach an even deeper level! Blessings to you, Ed and your family, friends, and all you hold dear and all you meet along your way ... in everything you do. (I hesitate sharing this... lol... because my heart was vulnerable as I woke today and this was inspiring...!)

It's been three years on a beautiful journey of loving myself, healing and living with authenticity. I believe that when you're able to look at yourself in the mirror and love, accept and forgive who you see, you project the same onto others. Your greatness is quite amazing Ed. There's greatness in every single human being. Some of us are more aware of it than others. Thank you, Ed, for letting your light shine brightly for us.💛

Ed, this is an impactful video and could not be more timely. My husband and I recently opened a medical aesthetics business which we are using social media to build our awareness. In ALL areas of our business and life this principle can be applied. I cannot stop thinking about this philosophy since watching your video... allowing us to have/give/be more impactful in the lives of others! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU ED!!! May God continue to richly bless you and your family!

Thank you for this, Ed. It was a message I really needed to hear right now. After an eleven year hiatus from acting on stage I am forcing myself to audition again. It was a big part of my life and I’ve been broken from leaving that part of me behind. With someone who has BDD this has been extremely difficult to do. I didn’t like how I looked and sounded in the video audition I just made. I look weird in my new headshots. These have been my thoughts and I was about to back out so I don’t get embarrassed or hurt. It’s easier to stay home and hide. This message has put my situation in a whole different perspective. When I enter that room for callbacks, I will think about how I can help those I encounter versus what are they going to think of me. I know for a fact that I am on this earth to help people and sometimes I forget that. That’s why I loved performing in the first place. Make people feel better about themselves. Thank you for reminding me! ❤

12:07 you talk about how you are friendly and conversational, talk about sports and whatnot, but you realize that you never compliment them about their work. That hit me. We spend so much energy and time being friendly saying and behaving how we think is right, but unless we look deep down, or through THEIR lens, we won’t understand exactly what’s beneath the surface. Thank you.

Fantastic Lesson! This Truth WILL Impact in the trail of it's evidence. A MUCH Clearer expression of put yourself in other peoples shoes. Just being acknowledged in the gifts that we contribute in the betterment of someones elses day is a gift in itself. It could have been just what was needed to be heard or experienced, and Just Think... only the moment before we all thought it was just going to be another day !

Thanks for this Ed x I work from home, am going through the menopause and have a wonderful husband and three adult children. Life is very busy and we recently built an annex in the garden for my Mum after Dad passed away. Everything has changed for Mum as she lived an hour away in their family home for 56 years!
I think we would all benefit from looking from other people’s lenses. Thanks so much ❤
