The mark on the arm is a callback from Alabasta to counter Bon Clay. Each of the straw hats had that mark on their arm and wrapped up so they could tell if Bon Clay transformed into them. It later symbolized the bond between ViVi and the straw hats when leaving Alabasta (they each raised their marked up to ViVi).
