I have never seen anything like this. The pure raw emotion of her interpretation of this song is overpowering. She is really putting herself out there. She is in complete control from beginning to end. Her grace and poise on stage was perfection. Every hand movement, every arm gesture was perfection. This has to be one of the greatest performances ever.

The conductor Andre Rieu is Dutch, Emma is Dutch, Emma is fluent in Dutch and English doesn't speak French but learned the song phonetically. Emma is connected to machines for 22 hours every day. This concert is in Maastricht with the audience being 12, 500 people.

Imagine being hooked on tubes 22 hours a day, every day, just to stay alive: Emma is in that position since she was a little baby. And her disease means that she has not grown very fast (at 15 she is only about 150cm long) and she always has to carry a bag with mobile pump and tubes wherever she goes: she has been bullied at school for that (children can be terrible...). And than we have her voice, so important because singing is giving Emma a feeling of freedom. And last but not least there is André Rieu (the conductor): he found out about Emma and took her under his wings (so to speak). After these performances (12 concerts) he has invited her to sing on Malta (which was last weekend) and in his Christmas concerts in December. And he also has invited Emma to go with him and his orchestra on World Tour, early 2024. I think that is so inspiring for this brave teenager which has so much to deal with.

Holland seems to have an above-average number of super talents. I would never have thought that Andrè Rieu, after the performance of Amira Willighagen, would once again present such an extremely impressive, enchanting young artist on stage. Absolutely world class what can be seen here.

Maastricht is in the Netherlands. Andre Rieu is Dutch and performs these shows every year. The singer is Dutch, singing in French. Andre Rieu speaks English because a lot of English people travel to the Netherlnds to watch him, and most Dutch people understand English....Maastricht is very near Belgium and Germany. People from around there are therefore pretty orchestra and chorus is multinational as well....

André Rieu is not a composer, but the conductor and violonist of his "Johan Strauss Orchestra", who has such incredible succes all over the World, making classical music more popular for all people. The song "Voilá" was sung first on the Eurovision Songcontest in 2021 by Barbara Pravi (France), who became second with it. So the song existed already, but it was also applicable on Emma's difficult life and health condition. And her performance and interpretation of the song is miraculous.

Emma said in a previous interview that because of her slow growth and being much smaller than her classmates that they called her the gnome and didn’t let her play many of the group games with them. So now her musical outlet brings with it passion and emotions.

Emma's disease is tragic. But I think that it has made her very strong in her personality. At the age of 15 she already founded a foundation. I hope and wish Emma that she can raise a lot of money.


The song Voilà is a cover. Original by Barbara Pravi who sang it at the "Grand Final - Eurovision Song Contest 2021" and was voted 2nd place.

I do not understand French. But with this presentation you don't need that. Emma transfers the emotions through the music to the audience, to me, my heart, my soul . Music is international. This is a very good example of that. Of course I got the lyrics and was even more moved.

Emma's voice is beautiful, wonderful, so clear and strong at the same time. It's a very beautiful song, a great melody and the lyrics kinda suit Emma. Maybe that also helped her to arouse so many emotions in the audience and in us. I only know

who can transmit so many emotions.

André Rieu is a Dutch violinist, orchestra leader, arranger and music producer. He is an institution here in Europe when it comes to music. He regularly goes on world tours with his orchestra. He often shows young artists, e.g.
