A minor make, but still a collectible imported racecar coupe from that time period.
And it has a similar body style to the 1963 jaguar E-type.
And only a few of them were made with automatic transmission.
Pretty sweet ride. If I was rich, I'd buy one and restore it. And a herbie replica too! LOL!

Interesting factoid: The Lovebug takes place in the same time and in the same city as another movie that has arguably the best car chase scene in history. I’m talking about Steve McQueen’s Bullitt. Bonus fact, during Bullitt’s epic chase, a VW bug keeps showing up in front of the fast moving cars time and again. Must be a close relative of Herbie.
